About Mill Cottage Montessori School

Mill Cottage Montessori School is an independent school situated in Brighouse, West Yorkshire in the United Kingdom, housed in a Grade 2 listed building set in idyllic rural grounds within the historic Old Corn Mill complex, adjacent to the naturally beautiful banks of the River Calder.  It is in close proximity to Castle Hill, Bradley Hall Farm and neighbouring Kirklees Hall Park, the latter of which is reputed to be the final resting place of the legendary Robin Hood!

We currently offer facilities for children aged 0 - 3 years old in the Infant Toddler Community and the Children's House caters for the 3 - 6 year olds.

The School provides access for all and offers a wide range of educational experiences through an extensive curriculum, using the didactic Montessori apparatus, including practical life, sensorial, cultural, mathematics, language, music and movement.

The premises underwent extensive restorations in 2005, and whilst retaining the charm and character originally afforded, now provide a safe, warm and friendly environment for children to have the freedom to explore both the indoor and outdoor surroundings.  Quality traditional fittings and decorations, with comfortable but natural furnishings adorn the interior of the school, whilst outside there are extensively cultivated areas along with a natural soft ground exterior activities area.

The School's location in relation to surrounding towns and Cities couldn't be more convenient.  Brighouse, Huddersfield, Mirfield, Bradford, Halifax and even Leeds and Manchester, are all within easy reach of us due to the extensive road and rail networks.

The School is within the Old Corn Mill complex with parking for in excess of 150 vehicles.  In addition to this, the School has designated parking areas for parents, staff and visitors to use at their convenience.
